A Comprehensive Guide to Cat – Raising: Litter, Pet Compatibility, and More

Tofu Cat Litter (Recommendation rating: 4 stars)

The reason for giving it 4 stars is that I’ve always been using the 3.0 small – granule activated – carbon tofu cat litter from N1, and I think it’s quite good.

Advantages: It can be flushed down the toilet. (This is extremely convenient for me! The dust is also within an acceptable range.) The deodorizing effect is satisfactory.

Disadvantages: The clumping effect is not as good as that of bentonite cat litter, and it’s a little more expensive than the above two kinds of cat litter.

The Compatibility Issue between New Pets and Resident Pets, Cats and Dogs

It depends on the situation. Generally, I think an adult dog and a small kitten are more likely to get along well. Cats have a relatively stronger territorial possessiveness than dogs. Dogs are rather naive, and as long as no one snatches their food, everything is okay. What I did at that time was to isolate them first, let them get familiar with each other’s smell. Then open the cage door and let the cat come out for a stroll. If the cat is scared, it can hide back in the cage or under the bed or sofa. (I’m quite laid – back. I didn’t specifically clean under the bed or sofa. But if you’re more careful, you’d better clean it.)

When they get familiar with each other, generally, I consider that when the cat doesn’t puff up its fur and the dog doesn’t growl, it’s the first step to a friendly acquaintance, and then they can play happily! However, you still need to pay more attention to their relationship.

Anyway, the two in my family are like “respectful guests” to each other. Their relationship is not close, but they don’t fight either. Living under the same roof, they just live their own lives. What else can they do? Hahahahaha

Going for a Walk

A dog can go anywhere with just a rope, but a cat??? It can exercise your arm strength. Walk a cat? What are you thinking? You’d better carry it all the way. There are some cats that are very brave and have seen a lot of the world. I have to say, you’re so lucky if you have such a cat.

Regular Parasite Prevention and Vaccine Inoculation

Do parasite prevention once every 1 – 2 months and get vaccines once a year!

Don’t think that just because a cat stays at home every day, it’s completely safe!!!

People, and the dogs at home, can all bring back eggs and germs. And cats love to groom themselves. You know that diseases enter through the mouth. So, regular parasite prevention is very important!

Reasons for Soft Stools

There are various reasons. I won’t go into details here. Excluding the reasons related to the cat’s illness. (If the cat is sick, go to the doctor immediately!!! Don’t just search on Baidu or ask other pet owners.)

The reasons for soft stools are generally related to food and water. Dirty water quality, a sudden change in cat food, and even changes in the weather can cause a cat to have soft stools. My opinion is that if the cat is in good condition and has a soft – stool situation very occasionally, there’s no need to make a big fuss. People also have diarrhea occasionally. As long as it’s not uncomfortable, it can heal on its own without injections or medicine. The recovery ability of small animals is also great!

If soft stools are caused by changing cat food, pet owners should pay attention. You can’t change the cat food suddenly. A cat’s stomach needs a process of adaptation. Try to use the 7 – day cat – food – changing method to change the cat food for your pet, and appropriately add some probiotics to regulate its stomach.
