NanNan came to our home at the age of 10 months. For a long time, she was bullied by our native American Shorthair. But now, she has learned to take the initiative to provoke playfully, and the two cats can finally get along in peace. Owning a Siamese cat has made me realize how intelligent cats can be. Compared to her, our American Shorthair seems a bit simple – minded (but I still love it).
When I pat my legs towards NanNan, she will immediately lie down on my lap. If she makes a mess and gets caught, she will quickly hide, as if she is afraid of being punished. NanNan’s appearance is really striking. Her blue eyes are like glass balls, clear and bright. She always likes to shake her tail leisurely, looking very relaxed. When I look into her eyes, I can feel that there is something deep in her gaze.
The journey of NanNan getting along with the American Shorthair is full of ups and downs. At first, the American Shorthair, as the “host”, showed some exclusion towards the newcomer NanNan. But NanNan, with her intelligence, gradually adapted to the environment and learned to interact with the American Shorthair. Now, the two cats no longer fight all the time. Instead, they will play with each other. Sometimes, NanNan will take the initiative to approach the American Shorthair, and the two cats will chase each other around the house.
What impresses me most is NanNan’s intelligence. She can quickly understand my simple instructions, such as patting my legs to signal her to come over. This kind of interaction makes me feel that she is not just a pet but a little partner who can communicate with me. Her alertness is also evident. As soon as she realizes that she has done something wrong, she will hide in a corner, peeking at me with her big eyes, as if trying to figure out my reaction.
In terms of appearance, NanNan is undoubtedly a little beauty. Her blue eyes are the highlight of her face, as if containing a deep sea, making people unable to help but be attracted. The sleek fur of her body is soft and smooth, and when the sunlight shines on her, it emits a charming luster. She always shakes her tail unconsciously, which seems to be a habit of hers, but it also adds a touch of cuteness to her.
The coexistence of NanNan and the American Shorthair makes our home full of vitality. Although there were some conflicts at the beginning, the current peace and harmony make me very gratified. NanNan’s intelligence and charm make me love this breed more. And the simplicity and honesty of the American Shorthair also make me unable to put it down. Each cat has its own unique personality, and they both bring endless joy to my life.
