I have a Siamese cat named Hetao at home. During the days of living with him, he has brought me countless joys. However, his unique “flaws” often make me feel a mix of love and “concern,” and I can’t wait to share them with everyone.
Hetao has been an “extremely clingy” cat since he was a kitten. When he was little, his tiny body loved to burrow into my clothes, as if searching for a warm and safe little nest. As he grew up, he became even more creative in showing his clinginess. When I was busy with my own things, he would come over and press my hand with his little paws, his eyes full of longing, as if saying, “Give me a pet now.” If I deliberately refused, he wouldn’t give up. Instead, he would run to the cat tree and pose in various cute ways to act cute, tilting his head, blinking his big eyes, and wagging his tail from time to time. His adorable appearance was irresistible, and I would always end up giving in and petting him to satisfy his wish.

Hetao’s curiosity knows no bounds. The balcony and the bedside at home are his favorite places to frolic. For his safety, I had to seal the balcony and install screens on all the windows. Even so, he never stops exploring new things. He can squat in front of the humidifier and stare at it for a long time, his eyes filled with confusion, as if trying to figure out how the white mist is produced. When he sees the green plants at home, he will also go over and sniff and observe, probably wondering why the plants have the green color that he doesn’t have. The most hilarious thing is that he is even curious about my going to the toilet. He will “study” beside me, as if puzzled why my poop doesn’t smell as bad as his. His serious expression often makes me burst into laughter.
When it comes to Hetao’s “flaws,” the hair – shedding problem is truly a headache. Every time I pet him for three minutes, I can get a large clump of hair. In daily life, his hair flies all over the house like a “cat – hair snow.” Although I’m a lazy person, I have to mop the floor every day to clean up these omnipresent cat hairs. Even so, his hair still often sticks to my clothes and the sofa, which is really frustrating.
As time goes by, Hetao has gradually “darkened.” Looking at his cute and delicate appearance when he was a kitten and comparing it with his current look, which is like a “burnt – looking” shrimp, it’s really sigh – inducing. However, even with such a huge change in appearance, he is still the one – and – only treasure in my heart.
Hetao is also a “whiny baby.” The sound is so sad that it seems he will cry in the next second, and I have to soothe him right away. He also loves to chase my mouse pointer. When I’m playing games and trying to last – hit minions, he always comes to disrupt. “Can I just focus on last – hitting in peace?” I ask him helplessly, but he just meows at me, as if to say, “Shut up, I’m having fun.” But after my several “teachings,” he has become much more obedient.
Hetao has another interesting “quirk” – he loves to make the “superior – looking” expression. Once, when I wasn’t home at night and called him through the Mijia camera, he stared straight at the camera with a look of “disdain” for a full half – hour, as if saying, “Hey, dad, are you really not coming back to pet your little cutie tonight?” His appearance was both annoying and amusing. Sometimes, he would act all pitiful and helpless, with his innocent eyes and curled – up body. Anyone who saw him would feel sorry for him. But the next second, he might start being naughty again. He’s really unpredictable.
Hetao’s these “flaws,” which are sometimes frustrating and sometimes hilarious, have long become a part of my life. Although he is not “perfect,” it is precisely these unique features that make him the most special existence in my life. I’m looking forward to more interesting and warm stories with him in the future.
