I have two Siamese cats at home, and they are like two lively treasures, staging all kinds of heartwarming and exasperating scenes every day. People often say that Siamese cats are the “Huskies of the cat world,” and this couldn’t be truer. Their endearing quirks are simply too amusing not to share.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Siamese cats is their ability to show their displeasure through their facial expressions. As one of the few cat breeds that can directly convey emotions on their faces, if you interrupt their precious “me – time,” they will immediately give you the cold shoulder. The look in their eyes and the expression on their faces seem to be saying, “Leave me alone,” which is both hilarious and endearing.

However, when you decide to leave them alone and focus on your own activities like playing on your phone, typing, or reading, they won’t have it. These two little rascals seem to have mastered the “iron – head skill” from somewhere. They constantly nudge my hands with their heads and plop themselves right in front of my phone screen, blocking my view. I get so overwhelmed by their affectionate pestering that my hands ache from petting them. In desperation, I once put them and their beloved lazy sofa up on the wardrobe. But it was all in vain. Moments later, with two loud thuds, they were back on the ground, ready to disrupt my peace again, as if to assert, “This is my territory, and I make the rules here!”
Siamese cats are also notorious for their picky eating habits, but perhaps it’s more accurate to say they have refined tastes. They only eat the yolks of eggs, turn their noses up at ordinary pork, find beef somewhat acceptable, and judge mutton based on its quality. When it comes to fruits, they turn down common ones like bananas, grapes, and apples. They only deign to eat premium options, such as Chilean grapes. But their absolute favorite has to be durian. Every time I enjoy this pungent fruit, they eagerly crowd around, gobbling it up with such relish that I can’t help but share more with them. When it comes to cat food, they have an insatiable appetite, happily devouring every bit in sight and religiously practicing the “clean – plate campaign.” In case of a cat food spill, there’s no need to worry. Just secure the bag, and when you wake up the next day, the floor will be spotless again. I can’t help but marvel at their “cleaning prowess.”
As carnivores, it’s understandable that Siamese cats have smelly stools. But why are their farts equally pungent? What’s more, they pass gas frequently and act as if nothing has happened afterward. Sometimes, they let out a stinky fart in the room and then casually stroll away, leaving me in a state of disbelief.
Despite all these exasperating quirks, these two Siamese cats bring endless joy and surprises to my life. They are like two mischievous children, both lovable and exasperating. And over time, I’ve found myself falling deeper in love with these “adorable little nuisances.”
