Siamese Cats: An Unrealized Dream of Cat Raising

Siamese Cats: An Unrealized Dream of Cat Raising

In the circle of pet lovers, Siamese cats have always had a unique charm, attracting many people like me who long for the company of cute pets. Once, I was also full of anticipation for raising a Siamese cat. However, after in – depth understanding and careful consideration, I finally chose to give up. This mental journey has given me a deeper understanding of cat – raising.

Siamese cats are known as the “dogs among cats,” and their bold and lively personalities are their most eye – catching feature. It is said that they are so bold that they are not afraid of unfamiliar environments or strangers. They are active and playful, able to interact with their owners like dogs, and can even be taken out for walks on a leash. For someone like me who wants to experience the warmth of cat – raising while also desiring a pet to accompany me outdoors, Siamese cats seemed like the perfect choice. This unique trait, like a magnet, instantly caught my attention and once made raising a Siamese cat part of my plans.

However, when I started to carefully study the strategies for raising Siamese cats, reality gave me a wake – up call. First of all, as a breed of cat, Siamese cats have the common problem of a “fragile stomach.” Their gastrointestinal tracts are very sensitive and have high requirements for food. A slight mistake can lead to gastrointestinal problems such as vomiting and diarrhea. This means that in terms of diet, I would need to invest a lot of time and energy in carefully selecting and matching food, and constantly paying attention to their dietary conditions. For me, who was busy at that time, this was undoubtedly a huge challenge.

What deterred me even more was the personality traits of Siamese cats. I once heard a case where an owner left their Siamese cat at home alone for a month due to a business trip. Unexpectedly, when the owner returned, they found that the cat had died of depression because it hadn’t seen its owner for a long time. This case shocked me greatly and made me realize that Siamese cats have an extremely strong psychological dependence on their owners. They need a lot of companionship and attention from their owners and long to interact with them all the time. As a novice cat owner with a busy job, I couldn’t guarantee enough time to accompany the Siamese cat. I was worried that my negligence would harm it and was afraid that I couldn’t bear the consequences of its health problems due to lack of companionship.

After careful consideration, I finally gave up the idea of raising a Siamese cat and instead chose a domestic cat, which seemed more resilient and easier to raise. I originally thought that domestic cats were tough – natured and not delicate, and would be much easier to care for. However, after actually raising one, I discovered that every cat has its own unique personality. Even domestic cats are not as easy to deal with as I imagined. They also have their own tempers and preferences, and require owners to understand and care for them with heart.

This process of deciding to raise a cat made me deeply understand that a cat’s personality is like opening a mystery box. Even among pure – blooded cats, there are significant individual differences, and the probability of these differences occurring is much higher than getting a hidden item in a mystery box. Every cat is a unique individual. We should make a careful decision based on our own actual situation. Although my plan to raise a Siamese cat did not come to fruition, this experience has made me more rational on the road of cat – raising and has made me cherish the time spent with my current cat even more.
