The Growth Story of Fugui, the Siamese Kitten: A Heartwarming Chapter of Love and Companionship

Ever since Fugui, the Siamese kitten, entered my life, every move of hers has tugged at my heartstrings, adding countless colors to my days. The time spent with her has been filled with joy, worry, and pleasant surprises, with each moment becoming a cherished memory.

Fugui has an insatiable love for snacks. She finished three bags of cat treats in just two weeks. Watching her gobble them up happily, I couldn’t help but feel both amused and a little helpless, exclaiming, “I’m broke! I’m broke! I’m broke!” Yet, whenever I saw her big, expectant eyes, I couldn’t resist spoiling her.

However, a casual decision to take Fugui out for a walk led to unexpected health issues. Recently, she started scratching her ears frequently. Upon careful inspection, I found dark, oily residue inside, likely caused by tiny creatures she brought back from outside, possibly ear mites. Panicked, I gently cleaned her ears with a thin stick and toilet paper, and immediately decided to take her to the vet the next day. This incident taught me a valuable lesson: kittens have weak immune systems, and outdoor outings pose significant risks. If there are other cats at home, isolation is crucial to prevent the spread of infections. Thankfully, with proper treatment, Fugui’s ear infection cleared up quickly. Every morning and evening, I carefully applied ear drops, massaged her ears gently, and wiped them clean with cotton swabs. Seeing her recover filled me with relief.

Fugui’s daily antics are a constant source of entertainment. She loves to disrupt my work, often plopping herself right on top of my computer or batting at my phone, fascinated by the moving images on the screen. She also has a penchant for nibbling on my pens, as if everything that moves is fair game for a good chew. She’s a true “shadow,” following me everywhere I go, but trying to act nonchalant. The moment I catch her, she dashes off to another room, her cute and aloof demeanor always making me burst into laughter. Lately, she’s been sleeping a lot and, without any exposure to a fan, her fur seems to be darkening, giving her an even more pronounced “coal – miner” look, which is incredibly endearing.

In early August, I had to leave home for school, a decision that filled me with regret. Although my grandmother and uncle were there to take care of her, I couldn’t help but worry. I relied on video calls to check on her, and the sound of her “meows” only deepened my longing. My roommates even joked that I was obsessed with my cat. Under my family’s loving care, Fugui lived like a little princess. My grandfather and uncle took over her feeding, treating her to dried meat, egg yolks, and plenty of cat food. The tiny 2.5 – pound kitten I left behind had transformed into a chubby 5 – pound “cutie” in no time. As winter arrived, her “coal – miner” appearance became even more distinct, as if she’d truly been hard at work at home.

What’s even more hilarious is how Fugui won over my mom. At first, Mom complained about her shedding and destructive behavior towards the sofa cover, threatening to give her away. But somehow, Fugui managed to charm her completely. Mom now lovingly calls her “kitty, kitty” and even set up a cozy bed for her in the bedroom.

When I finally returned home after four months away, Fugui didn’t recognize me, which broke my heart. But I didn’t give up. With persistence, cat treats, and diligent litter – box cleaning, I gradually regained her trust. Now, she follows me around again and even sleeps soundly on my quilt at night, warming my heart with her presence.

Fugui’s growth story is the most heartwarming chapter of my life. She taught me that raising a cat isn’t just about providing care; it’s about receiving unconditional love and companionship in return. In the days to come, I look forward to creating many more beautiful memories with Fugui, and I hope our bond will only grow stronger with time.
