Siamese Cat: Magically Turns White in Summer

Siamese Cat: Magically Turns White in Summer

August 26th. What a cause for celebration! My Siamese cat actually turned white again in summer.

I have a Siamese cat that “darkened” over time, leaving only a patch of white under its chin. I bought it from a pet store downstairs when I was in Changsha last year. At that time, it only had dark legs and a slightly dark area around its nose. With blue eyes and a milky – white body, it was quite charming. When I bought it, I had no idea that this cat would turn dark in winter and not return to its original light color easily. What an “anti – human” gene! Usually, animals get darker from sun exposure in summer and lighter in winter. Why is it the opposite for this cat?

Here’s how it looked shortly after I brought it home. Then, let’s take a look at the transformation pictures.

It fought with the dog every day. Sometimes I even doubted if I was raising two dogs instead of a cat and a dog. The two of them would catch bugs for me every day. I often woke up in the morning to find several motionless crawling small animals, which were probably their “breakfast gifts” for me.

Now, here comes a whole bunch of transformation pictures. Even though it had its fur shaved due to skin problems, it still looked very handsome and cute. When it was still light – colored, it really liked staying in the cage, but its wild personality was just like a dog’s.

I can’t remember the exact order of these photos. Here’s the so – called “cat bag,” a limited edition. During outdoor activities, look at that eye – roll! Yes, it’s the expression of looking down on my dog. The dog bit it once, and I managed to capture this moment. It was put into a cat litter bag, and it was almost impossible to pick it out while it was standing there.

Anyone who has lived in Changsha knows that in Hunan, it’s extremely hot in summer and bitterly cold in winter. Even when I turned on the air conditioner and heater in winter, my cat still darkened.

Well, at the end of the year, I had to go back home for the Spring Festival, so I returned the rented house in Changsha and took both my cat and dog back to my hometown. And that’s when my cat darkened completely.

This was taken on the way back to my hometown. Without an air conditioner at my hometown, it looked like this. It was very reluctant to take a photo with the big wax gourd. Winter is indeed a good time for gaining weight. It would run and rest on my legs or my mother’s legs every day. I bought a lot of canned food and snacks as New Year gifts for the two of them, and then it would squat beside the snacks, guarding them (the blue box next to it was also filled with snacks, canned food, nutritional products, etc.). It looked like a weasel, a look I’d never seen on it before.

My boyfriend’s house was too cold, so at night it would cling to me for warmth. Since there was a British Shorthair cat in the living room and they would fight, my poor cat, Fugui, could only be locked in the room. (The living room had the air conditioner on and an electric heating table. The British Shorthair was the first cat I raised. I brought it back two years ago for my boyfriend’s parents to take care of. So, only Fugui suffered.) Look at this color difference. Even with the brightest lighting, I couldn’t make Fugui look lighter. Every time I turned off the lights, it would start digging in the big basin of cat litter my mother prepared for it. Is this real enough? Let’s make a comparison. Is this really the same cat? But it’s still my dearest cat. It’s so cute, with an adorable meow and an even more charming personality.

June 29th. It got neutered. After coming home, it always looked at people with a squint, and its eyes seemed unable to open fully. When walking, its right foot looked lame. My mother was so scared that she called me immediately, saying that Fugui looked so pitiful after being neutered. She worried about how it would live in the future, as it couldn’t even climb onto the sofa. So, she quickly contacted the pet store owner. Fortunately, it was just a false alarm. The owner said its foot was just numb and there was no serious problem. It would be fine after a while.
