The Color - Changing and Adventurous Siamese Cat

The Color – Changing and Adventurous Siamese Cat

Three months ago, a new member joined my family – a dark Siamese cat. The previous owner told me that it was born in February. Due to the extremely cold weather, it was “darkened” from birth, looking like a little black charcoal. At that time, I had already heard that Siamese cats would change color as they grew up, so I didn’t pay much attention. I thought that even if it wasn’t dark when it was a kitten, it would still turn dark as it grew older, so I happily brought it home.

When it first arrived, it was just like a little black cat, with its fur shining black all over. In the sunlight, it seemed to be wrapped in a mysterious black veil. I happily prepared a warm and comfortable nest for it, looking forward to spending wonderful times with it. However, this Siamese cat showed its uniqueness from the very beginning.

After raising it for two or three months, with the arrival of summer and the gradual rise in temperature, something magical happened. One day, I suddenly noticed that it started to “fade.” The originally pitch – black fur gradually became lighter, and the white base color began to show. Watching it turn white day by day, I was both surprised and amused, as if I had a cat with “magic.” During that period, it had a special hobby. Instead of sleeping in its cozy nest, it preferred to get into my helmet.

I thought it would keep this white color or turn black again only in winter, but who could have expected that its changes were more unpredictable than the weather. I jokingly told my friends that it turned white maybe because it was “eating human flesh and drinking human blood” since it bit me every day, leaving my arms with continuous wounds. Although this was just a joke, it also showed its lively and energetic personality.

But accidents always come unexpectedly. A few days ago, this naughty Siamese cat climbed over the wall and got lost. Those three days were filled with my anxiety as I searched everywhere but found nothing. Finally, I tried the “scissors method” from folklore. Perhaps because of my sincerity, a miracle happened, and it finally came back. However, its head was unfortunately bitten by a dog.

But after it came back, it gave me another “surprise.” Before winter even arrived, it started to turn black rapidly and became darker day by day. Since it got lost and came back, it seemed to have turned on the “darkening acceleration mode.” The fur that still had some white in it was now almost completely black, showing its potential as a “coal boss.” By May 25th, it was extremely black, and its appearance was a bit “scary,” like a little “ghost.”

Moreover, it became extremely fierce. It climbed over the wall every day and played outside all day long. It would only come back leisurely when it was time for a meal. After eating and drinking, it would fall asleep immediately. I often wonder what it does outside every day, but it never “reveals” anything. Fortunately, it still knows its way home. No matter how far it runs, it can find its way back. Now, I can occasionally take it out for a walk. Watching it explore outside, although it is naughty and makes me worry, it has long become an indispensable part of my life. This color – changing and adventurous Siamese cat, in its unique way, has added countless joys and surprises to my life and also made me deeply understand the fun and meaning of keeping a cat.
