Today, my dear cat July is exactly six months old! What a wonderful occasion to share our story. I wish this little rascal an endless supply of dried fish and all the charming lady cats he can charm.
July is a Siamese cat, and having him is truly like having both a cat and a dog rolled into one. On the very first day he arrived at my home, he was incredibly friendly. He leaped right into my arms, eager for pats, kisses, and hugs. Since then, he has been my constant shadow. He follows me everywhere – when I’m having a meal, going to sleep, using the restroom, or even taking a shower. He just can’t bear to be away from me.
Every morning, he serves as my reliable alarm clock, waking me up punctually. Sometimes, he gets a bit grumpy with me when I take a shower, but within seconds, his anger dissipates, and he comes back to nuzzle against me affectionately.

I first met July in the early summer of July. That’s how he got his name. Coincidentally, my friend has a cat named An Sheng, and we even arranged a “baby betrothal” for them. When we first met, July seemed quiet and gentle on the surface, but as I got to know him, I discovered his crazy and lively Gemini nature.
When he was a tiny kitten, he was so small that he looked like he wanted to say, “Mom, take me to work with you!” At two months old, he was at his most adorable. His cuteness was almost too much to handle. There were so many hilarious moments, like when he was in his sleepy bug phase. He would look so small, pitiful, and helpless, and he would often ask, “Mom, am I more beautiful than the book?” His head – tilting gesture was simply irresistible.
As July grew from July to August, his appearance started to change a bit. He began to show more of his true, sassy character. In summer, his innocent little eyes could melt anyone’s heart. Sometimes, he would get annoyed with me, his photo – crazy mom. His expressions were so vivid, as if he was saying, “Mom!! Are you out of your mind?!” But then, his profile was so charming that it could steal anyone’s heart.
As the weather gradually turned cold, my little black – faced cutie would curl up in his little nest. He looked so cute wearing clothes and carrying a small schoolbag, as if he was going to school. He even had a superhero moment when he seemed to be saying, “I am the Monkey King!” He was getting a bit chubby, which was perfect for the winter. He would ask, “Mom, do I look like a gold ingot?”
From a cute little boy to a chubby “uncle”, from summer to autumn, these six months have been a precious time. Although it doesn’t seem like a long time, the joy and companionship he has brought me are invaluable. I love holding him in bed and listening to his purring. I love coming home from work every day to his excited meows at the door. Whenever I go on a long trip, I worry about him because all he does at home is wait for me. He doesn’t play with his toys or jump around much; he just patiently waits for the sound of my footsteps.
July is so popular. His warm, cheerful, and lively personality has attracted a lot of “godmothers”, all of whom are crazy about him. He is also very brave, curious, and full of energy. Even when facing a cat twice his size, like Sheriff, he dares to jump up and swat at his head. When I’m playing games or watching movies, he will obediently lie on my lap, acting as a warm hand warmer. Whenever I’m feeling down, just watching his funny antics can instantly lift my spirits.
July, my dear little friend, I am truly grateful that you have come into my life. You have filled my days with laughter, love, and countless beautiful memories. Here’s to many more happy months and years together.
