In my warm little home, there live seven lovely shaded British Shorthairs. Not long ago, one of them, Yinjiang, even welcomed her own babies, making the home even more lively. Speaking of these little guys, each one has its own unique charm. Today, let’s first talk about Li Xiaojin, Li Xiaoyin, and Maomao.
Li Xiaojin, Li Xiaoyin, and Maomao were all brought back from a regular cattery. Li Xiaojin is a male British Shorthair Golden Shaded. Its round face is like a fluffy and soft little bun, making people want to pinch it as soon as they see it. Li Xiaojin has a very calm personality. It doesn’t like to meow usually. Most of the time, it keeps the classic “farmer’s tuck” posture, either lying lazily on the bed, or quietly in a daze on the table, or staying steadily on the cat climbing frame, as if the whole world has nothing to do with it.
However, Li Xiaojin also has a vibrant side. It is full of curiosity about the outside world and extremely likes to go out and play. I specially sealed the security window tightly with wire mesh and laid wooden boards. Every morning, I will let the cats go out to get some fresh air, feel the fresh air, and watch the people coming and going and the birds flying freely. Whenever I open the window, Li Xiaojin is always the first to rush out, like an eager little explorer exploring the unknown world. If the window is not closed, it can stay outside comfortably for a whole day.
Li Xiaojin’s way of getting close to people is also very special. It is time – divided. When the family members are awake, it behaves relatively coldly and doesn’t take the initiative to act coquettishly. But when people fall asleep, it will quietly approach and likes to sleep next to your pillow. Sometimes, it even directly occupies your pillow, as if saying, “This is my territory!” When it is almost morning, it has a unique little habit. It likes to gently play with my hair with its little paws. Its careful and curious appearance makes people angry and funny at the same time. However, over time, I even suspect that my thinning hair is due to it.
Li Xiaojin also has a habit that makes people laugh. It especially likes to observe people using the toilet. It will stand on the water tank and stare at you intently from behind. Its focused eyes seem to be studying some profound topic. What’s more interesting is that sometimes when there is no one in the toilet, it will also sit alone on the water tank, with a straight posture, just like a little guard sticking to its post. Its appearance is really extremely funny. Li Xiaojin doesn’t like to be held. If you forcefully pick it up, it will be a little reluctant at first, but after being held for a while, it won’t resist too fiercely. It just accepts it silently and occasionally makes a few soft purring sounds.
Li Xiaoyin, this silver – shaded cat, has a completely different personality from Li Xiaojin. It is lively and active, like a little motor that is always full of electricity. It jumps up and down at home and can’t stay still for a moment. It is interested in all kinds of toys, especially those rolling balls. Once it starts playing, it can’t stop, often making the house in a mess, but also bringing us endless joy.
And Maomao, the British Longhair Silver Shaded, is a gentle and quiet little guy. It has a soft long coat that feels extremely smooth when touched. Maomao always stays quietly in the corner, observing everything around with its gentle eyes. It likes to be stroked. Whenever you gently stroke its head, it will comfortably squint its eyes and make a soft purring sound in its throat, expressing its comfort.
These three cats, Li Xiaojin’s calmness and naughtiness coexist, Li Xiaoyin’s liveliness and activeness, and Maomao’s gentleness and quietness, together form the colorful life of our family. Their existence makes this home full of vitality and warmth. Every moment of getting along with them has become a precious memory in my life. I look forward to their healthy and happy growth all the time, and they will continue to perform their wonderful stories in this home.
