Quanneng: The “Husky” in Cat’s Clothing

When I named my cat Quanneng, it was filled with all the hopes and dreams of a “cat – mom.” I envisioned a perfect, well – behaved feline that could do anything and everything right, a sweet and adorable companion. Little did I know that I was actually welcoming a chaos – causing, trouble – making “Husky” in the disguise of a cat into my life.

Quanneng’s destructive tendencies are off the charts. From the moment it entered my home, it seemed to have made it its mission to turn everything upside down. It’s an absolute “home – wrecking” expert. I used to have two small fabric stools. By the time I moved house, I couldn’t bear to take either of them with me because Quanneng had scratched them so much that all the threads came loose. And that’s not all. It has broken two of my teacups and a incense burner. I’d leave for work in the morning, and when I came back in the evening, there would be broken pieces scattered around, with Quanneng comfortably curled up in a basket, looking at me with half – closed eyes as if to say, “What? I didn’t do it!” It’s as if these objects just spontaneously shattered on their own!

This cat’s audacity knows no bounds. Unlike other cats that might sneakily rummage through the trash can with a specific goal in mind, Quanneng does it for the sheer principle that anything standing upright in the trash can is simply “wrong.” It doesn’t care if there’s food or not; it just has to knock everything over. And when it comes to other forms of destruction, it doesn’t even bother to hide. It will blatantly tear things apart right in front of me, as if it gets a thrill from “breaking the rules” under my nose. One time, it knocked over my cup of milk tea. Its first reaction wasn’t to run away in guilt but to start lapping up the spilled tea as fast as it could. Did it really think I wouldn’t notice it was the culprit just because it had a few sips? By the time I caught it, its belly was so full and round from all the tea it had greedily consumed.

Quanneng’s clinginess is suffocating. If I dare to focus on my computer, especially during an intense gaming session, it will come over and step on the power plug of the extension cord. I was in the middle of an important team fight once, and suddenly, my screen went black because of this little rascal. And it did it not just once but twice! When I’m watching a drama and ignoring it, it will jump onto the keyboard and keep pressing the keys until the computer freezes. It simply refuses to be ignored and will do anything to get my attention.

Another thing that drives me crazy is its insatiable appetite. I noticed it was getting a bit too chubby, so I switched it to a special diet of weight – loss cat food, hoping it would shed some pounds. But what did it do? It actually gained two more pounds! When I tried to reduce its food portion, it would scratch at the cat food bag, making a loud “rustling” noise, and then stare at me intently, as if demanding, “Fill it up right now!” If I still didn’t give in, it would charge at me and bite my knees.

And let’s not forget about its drinking habits. It refuses to touch the water in its own bowl but is more than happy to drink from anywhere else. After I take a shower, it follows me around, licking up any drops of water it can find. When I’m making tea, it’s right there beside the tea tray, lapping away. And the most dangerous of all, it’s constantly fascinated by the water where my seven turtles, including a snapping turtle, live. I’ve seen the snapping turtle stretching its head out, ready to bite its tongue, but Quanneng doesn’t seem to care. Even after I push it away, it still tries to reach out and touch the turtle.

On top of all this, Quanneng is incredibly talkative. If I try to “meow” back at it, it will actually “swat” at me as if scolding me for imitating it. It’s clear that this cat is not your average feline. It’s a wild, unpredictable, and overly energetic “Husky” trapped in a cat’s body, constantly keeping me on my toes and filling my life with both exasperation and laughter.
