The Adorable and Charming Siamese Cat, Yi

Meet Yi, my extraordinary Siamese cat, whose charm and lovable quirks make him stand out as a truly unique feline companion. From his gentle nature to his endearing appearance, Yi has won my heart and filled my life with countless joyful moments.

Yi is the epitome of a docile cat. His temper is incredibly good – natured. Even when I rest my feet on him, he doesn’t get angry. With a gentle nudge, he’ll lie down and “play dead,” allowing me to pet him to my heart’s content. He rarely scratches or bites, making him a pleasure to be around. When he sits with his paws tucked under his body, he looks exactly like an uncut block of dark chocolate bread, a sight that never fails to make me smile. It’s interesting how his fur color has changed as he grew older. Unlike other Siamese cats, his color has become more and more distinct, adding to his unique charm.

One of Yi’s most captivating features is his large, sapphire – blue almond – shaped eyes. They give him an air of mystery and a hint of melancholy, but in reality, he’s a sunny and curious cat. He isn’t afraid of strangers at all. Whenever I open the door for guests, he’s the first one to rush forward and sniff them. If he recognizes them as familiar faces, he’ll proceed to sharpen his claws, marking them with his scent, and then rub against their legs, showing his affection regardless of their gender. Although cats often have a preference for interacting with women due to auditory sensitivities and other factors, Yi doesn’t discriminate, especially when food is involved.

Yi is slightly larger than his wife, and he dotes on her with all his heart. The same goes for food; he’ll patiently wait for her to eat before he starts. However, there’s one exception – any dairy products and kitten milk cake. Yi is obsessed with the milky taste, while his wife is drawn to the aroma. This difference has sometimes caused a bit of a “rift” in their relationship, but their love for each other always prevails.

In his younger days, Yi had a rather naughty habit – he loved wetting the bed. It wasn’t the accidental urination of a young kitten but a deliberate act, perhaps a way for him to mark his territory. As he matured and his wife came into his life, the frequency of this behavior decreased. However, during the mating season, he would often bite his wife’s neck, which led me to make the decision to have him neutered. After the operation, the bed – wetting stopped completely, but now he’s facing the problem of post – neuter obesity. Currently, I’m on the lookout for effective ways to prevent or treat urinary calculi and would greatly appreciate any advice or tips from fellow cat owners.

Despite his size and seemingly fearless demeanor, Yi still gets scared by common things that startle cats. But compared to many other felines, he’s quite brave. He’s been through a lot, from his youthful mischief to his transformation after neutering, but his spirit remains unbroken.

Yi’s affectionate nature is truly heartwarming. He loves to groom his wife, and their interactions are filled with love and tenderness. They are inseparable, and their relationship is a constant source of joy for me. Whether it’s watching them play together or seeing Yi’s protective and loving behavior towards his wife, I’m reminded of the special bond that exists between them and the happiness they bring into my life. Yi is not just a cat; he’s a beloved member of my family, and I cherish every moment spent with him.
