Kela the Stubbornly Proud Siamese Cat: The Tender Heart Beneath the Arrogance

Kela the Stubbornly Proud Siamese Cat: The Tender Heart Beneath the Arrogance

Among the three cats with distinct personalities in my family, Kela the Siamese cat stands out with her “stubbornly proud” character, making people both adore and feel helpless towards her. It’s said that Siamese cats are psychologically sensitive, and Kela has vividly demonstrated this sensitivity along with her pride.

Kela and Galie were both once “only children,” so they never fought over food and expressed their needs in a very reserved way. In contrast, Pangfu, as the second cat to join the family, is an expert at competing for food and acting cute. However, perhaps due to her overly lively and naive nature, Pangfu has been taught a lesson by her two “elder sisters,” Kela and Galie, more than once. Galie occasionally shows off her cute tricks, such as suddenly lying down in the middle of the road, exposing her soft belly, and looking at you with longing eyes, begging for a pet. Her appearance can melt anyone’s heart.

As for Kela, she has been “proud” since she was a kitten. Usually, she hardly takes the initiative to act cute. When you try to pick her up, she always looks reluctant and resists. But once you gently scratch her chin, she can’t help but cooperate and tilt her head back to enjoy it, looking very comfortable. But after a while, she seems to suddenly realize, “No, I must maintain my dignity,” and then she will bite your hand, trying to save face. However, just when you’re about to pull your hand back, she will hold it tightly and lick it gently, as if to say, “Don’t go, keep scratching.” Such contradictory and adorable actions are really hilarious.

Sometimes, when Kela wants to be petted, she won’t actively rub against you like Pangfu or lie down directly to seek attention like Galie. Instead, she will quietly walk up to you and lie on your stomach, staying still, neither rubbing against you nor making a sound. She just stares at you with her bright eyes, full of expectation. Only when you reach out to pet her will she slightly narrow her eyes and enjoy the love, while still maintaining that cold – faced expression.

As time goes by, the three cats have gradually adapted to each other, and their lives have become harmonious. Although I love each of them, Kela holds an irreplaceable position in my heart. I know that beneath her proud exterior lies an extremely sensitive heart that yearns for love. Those feelings of unease and small tempers caused by the arrival of new members, as well as those stubborn and cute proud behaviors, all stem from her deep dependence on me.

Looking back, Kela has changed from a weak and dependent little furball when she first came to my home to a proud “queen” with a strong sense of self now. Every change in her tugs at my heartstrings. I regret not being able to notice her inner unease in time when new cats joined the family, and I blame myself for shaking her trust in me.

For those who want to raise Siamese cats, I sincerely hope you can learn from my experience. Siamese cats have a rich and sensitive inner world, and they need more companionship and love than other cats. Only by giving them enough attention and a sense of security can you enter their hearts and gain their unique love. And in the days to come, I will use more patience and love to regain Kela’s trust and let her know that she will always be my most cherished treasure, and I will always be by her side, no matter what.
