Two Charming Siamese Cats in My Life

Two Charming Siamese Cats in My Life

In my life, there are two adorable Siamese cats, Nini and Dali, who have filled my days with countless joys, surprises, and a touch of chaos. Each of them has a distinct personality that makes them truly one – of – a – kind, and they have become an integral part of my family.

Nini, a blue – point Siamese cat born in November 2017 and brought into our home in May 2018, lives up to the reputation of being a chatterbox. She is always vocal, chirping and gurgling throughout the day. Even when taking photos, she can’t seem to close her mouth, which once led others to mistakenly think she was extremely fierce. But in reality, behind that seemingly tough exterior is a cat full of charm and character.

One of Nini’s quirks is her extreme pickiness when it comes to food. She only has an appetite for cat food, turning her nose up at almost everything else. Her personality is a complex mix of jealousy and pride. She’s like a beautiful but easily – offended concubine in feudal times; everything has to be done to please her. When it comes to being clingy, she’s the one who initiates the affection. She’ll casually drape herself over my mom’s arm or cozy up against her chest, showing her love in her own way.

Nini also has a penchant for exploring strange places. Cabinets are her favorite hideouts. We have to be extremely careful with them because she often sneaks inside without us noticing. Despite having three cat beds, she shows no interest in them. Instead, she prefers to nap in cabinets during the day. There was one time when I was shocked to find her inside my lingerie cabinet. I still have no idea how she managed to squeeze through that narrow opening. My mom has accidentally locked her inside multiple times.

To top it off, Nini is quite mischievous. She’s not afraid to pick fights with the dogs, and she’s always keeping an eye on everything that goes on around her. She’ll even try to disrupt my photo – taking sessions. She loves drinking water from people’s cups and has the audacity to stick her paws into thermoses to wash her feet. She’s also fond of digging up the soil in my mom’s succulent pots, pulling out the plants by their roots. She plays with the leaves of the spider plants my mom grows, dragging them around the floor. The swirling water in the toilet bowl fascinates her. She often sneaks into the bathroom to play with the water, and once, she even lost her balance and fell in. Whenever we’re doing chores like sorting through clothes or pockets, she’s right there, getting in the way, squeezing into the pockets. And when we clean the glass table, she always comes over to walk on it and roll around, leaving paw prints and fur all over the freshly – cleaned surface.

Then there’s Dali, a seal – point Siamese cat born in July 2018 and joining our family in October of the same year. His postures are often quite hilarious and a bit eye – catching, giving him an air of a “French cat.” His seal – point color makes him look even darker, like a hard – working coal miner, and now he’s as black as a mine foreman. Unlike Nini, Dali has a thick coat, and every time I groom him, a large amount of fur comes off. Since getting these two cats, cleaning the house has become a daily routine; otherwise, our home would be covered in fur.

Interestingly, Nini and Dali are half – siblings. Despite the somewhat strained relationship between Dali and me due to my role in taking him for sterilization, injections, and medications, he has a tender side. Whenever I’m crying, he’ll quietly come over to comfort me, showing a level of sensitivity and affection that warms my heart.

These two Siamese cats, with all their quirks and unique personalities, have brought so much color and warmth to my life. They may cause a bit of trouble from time to time, but every moment spent with them is a precious memory that I will cherish forever.
