Before getting a cat, I had heard that Siamese cats were intelligent, which was a major reason why I chose to raise one. However, after bringing it home, I realized that this Siamese cat was much more special than I had imagined. It was like a walking “drama queen,” staging hilarious and exasperating “shows” every day.
This Siamese cat always seems to wear a look of displeasure, as if the whole world owes it something. From the moment the first ray of sunlight enters the room in the morning, its “complaints” never stop. Whether it’s hungry, wants to play, or just wants to get my attention, it expresses itself with a constant stream of “meows.” Its chatter is endless, as if it has an infinite amount of grievances and demands to voice. What’s even more amusing is that its meows can sometimes be sharp and urgent, almost like it’s “cursing” in its own way. The intensity of it makes one feel as if it’s engaged in a heated debate. But even so, looking at its cute and arrogant appearance, I can only helplessly choose to forgive it. After all, it’s the apple of my eye.

The intelligence of Siamese cats is fully demonstrated in this one. Every time I pick up my shoes, it immediately understands and quickly crouches by the door, its eyes filled with anticipation, as if urging me, “Take me out! Take me out!” But once we actually step outside, it instantly “cowers.” All its previous bravado disappears, its butt seems too heavy to lift, and it trembles all over, looking like a frightened little coward. One second it’s eager to go out, and the next it’s terrified. This contrast is incredibly endearing and never fails to make me laugh. Its behavior, much like Lord Ye’s love for dragons in the fable, is both annoying and amusing, adding a lot of joy to our lives.
In terms of daily habits, this Siamese cat also has its own “schemes.” It loves to crawl under the covers, and it always chooses to enter from my side of the bed. I later figured out why. I sleep soundly, while my husband is a light sleeper. It has clearly figured out our sleeping patterns and picks my side, thinking it’s less likely to get caught. I can’t help but “complain” while reaching out to stroke its soft head.
Although this Siamese cat often causes a lot of “trouble,” it’s precisely because of its unique personality that our lives have become far from ordinary. Every expression, every movement, every “antics” of it has become a precious memory in my life. During the days of living with it, I’ve come to understand that raising a cat isn’t just about having a companion; it’s a wonderful journey full of surprises and joy. Whether it’s the “grumpy little complainer” or the “intelligent yet timid drama queen,” I’ve unknowingly fallen deeply in love with this little guy. I look forward to continuing to write more interesting and heartwarming stories with it in the future.
