Raising a Siamese cat named MiHoutao has been an incredibly rewarding and delightful journey filled with countless memorable moments. This charming feline has not only become an integral part of my life but also brought a unique flavor to every day with its distinctive personality and quirks.
MiHoutao is remarkably easy to take care of, especially when it comes to food. It’s not a picky eater at all, readily gobbling up whatever is served. Whether it’s regular cat food, a bit of cooked fish, or even some specially – made cat treats, it approaches every meal with enthusiasm, making feeding time a breeze. However, this easy – going nature in food is complemented by its rather talkative side. It has a lot to “say,” often chirping and meowing away, especially at the most unexpected times. There have been numerous nights when I’ve been woken up by its chatter at my bedroom door, as if it’s eager to share some late – night stories or simply seeking attention.

When it comes to personality, MiHoutao is far from being aloof. Instead, it’s extremely clingy, always craving human companionship. It loves following me around the house, whether I’m cooking in the kitchen, reading on the sofa, or working at my desk. It will jump onto my lap, nuzzle against me, and purr contentedly, making it almost impossible to focus on anything else. But along with its clinginess, it also has a somewhat “neurotic” side. One moment, it can be peacefully lounging, and the next, it will suddenly dash around the room, chasing imaginary prey or pouncing on random objects, showcasing its unpredictable and energetic nature.
One of the most fascinating aspects of MiHoutao is its ever – changing coat color. Like many Siamese cats, its fur color is highly sensitive to temperature. When I first brought it home almost two years ago, it had a beautifully light – colored coat, pure and white, with just a hint of darker shades on its ears and paws. Its big, expressive eyes and that curious little gaze made it look incredibly cute, as if it was a little ball of innocence. But as time passed and the seasons changed, especially during colder months, its fur gradually darkened. Now, it has transformed into a “black beauty,” with its once – white body taking on a rich, dark hue. Although the change was unexpected at first, I’ve grown to love its new look just as much, seeing it as a unique mark of our shared journey.
The road to raising MiHoutao hasn’t been without its challenges. When I first got it from another family, it unfortunately suffered from feline herpesvirus, also known as feline rhinotracheitis. I was worried sick, but I was determined to do everything I could to help it recover. I spent over 1000 yuan on its treatment, taking it to the vet regularly, administering medications, and providing extra care. Thankfully, my efforts paid off, and after a period of treatment, MiHoutao made a full recovery. This experience taught me an important lesson: if one plans to raise a cat, it’s highly advisable to purchase from a regular pet store. This way, there will be fewer potential health issues and less worry in the long run.
Looking back at the photos of MiHoutao from when it first arrived and comparing them with its current appearance, I’m filled with a sense of warmth and nostalgia. The videos of it “playing the piano,” with its paws gently tapping on the keys, are not only hilarious but also heartwarming. One of the videos, in particular, has a somewhat comical yet “sad” tone, as if MiHoutao is trying to convey a deep, emotional melody. These precious memories, along with the daily joys and surprises that MiHoutao brings, make every moment of raising it truly worthwhile. I look forward to many more years of adventures and companionship with this wonderful Siamese cat by my side.
