As a novice who has just stepped into the world of cat – keeping, I chose a Siamese cat as my first pet. During the days of getting along with it, I have deeply experienced the unique charm of Siamese cats and am grateful for making this wise decision.
Many people worry that cats may have body odor, but Siamese cats completely dispelled my concerns. My Siamese cat has no unpleasant smell at all, and even its paws are clean and odor – free. This allows me to have close contact with it without any burden and enjoy the pleasure of petting it to the fullest. In terms of health, my Siamese cat has performed extremely well. So far, it has never been sick and is in good physical condition. Compared with Ragdolls and Persian cats, Siamese cats have significantly stronger constitutions. In my opinion, they are just as hardy and easy to raise as Chinese rural cats. Every time I see it full of energy and vitality, I feel extremely relieved and more confident in taking care of its life.
The choice of cat food and cat litter, indeed, depends largely on personal financial situation. Since I’m a bit lazy, I haven’t tried making cat food myself and instead choose to buy ready – made cat food. I feed my cat Acana fish – flavored cat food. This cat food is of good quality and nutrition, and my cat loves it. For cat litter, I use plain tofu cat litter. Perhaps because it doesn’t like other scents, the plain cat litter suits its preference perfectly. Besides cat food and cat litter, I also prepare various canned foods for it. Large – canned products from brands like Ziwipeak and K9 are quite affordable when purchased in bulk. I also cook shrimp and chicken breast for it once a week and pair them with some snacks such as cat treats and dried fish. All in all, I spend about 400 – 500 yuan on my cat each month. However, my classmate’s Siamese cat remains healthy and lively with only 200 yuan of monthly expenses. This makes me understand that cat – keeping costs vary from person to person. Sometimes, buying high – priced pet supplies may just be to ease our minds. Even though I know some of them may be “overpriced products”, I’m still willing to do it for my cat.
The personality of my Siamese cat is very interesting. On ordinary days, it is always quiet and appears rather aloof, as if uninterested in everything around it. But when it gets bored, it will actively come to me to play and attract my attention in its unique way. However, it also has some annoying little habits. For example, it loves to bite headphone cables and plastic bag handles. I paid a heavy price to correct this habit, losing more than 5,000 yuan in total. But even so, my love for it has not diminished at all. Instead, I think these little episodes make our time together more interesting.
The most surprising thing about Siamese cats is their dog – like personality. It is curious about everything around, eager to explore, and will warmly welcome me home just like a little dog. This unique character perfectly satisfies my dual desire to keep both a cat and a dog. Every day when I get home and see it running towards me impatiently and rubbing its head against my leg, all my tiredness vanishes instantly.
Choosing a Siamese cat as my first pet has been a journey full of surprises and warmth. Its ease of care, cuteness, and uniqueness have made me fall in love with it. Although there are some small problems in the process of cat – keeping, compared with the joy it brings, they are insignificant.
