In my life, the silver – shaded cat Xiaobaozi is like a treasure full of surprises, constantly bringing me joy and touches, and making my life rich and colorful.
Every morning, when I’m still in bed, Xiaobaozi will always sneak over quietly. Sometimes, it will lean against my shoulder, find a comfortable position, and continue to sleep peacefully. When it sleeps with my best friend, it always likes to lie on my best friend’s chest because my best friend’s chest is big and soft, and it feels great for its paws. Whenever I stroke it with my hand, it will immediately roll over, expose its chubby belly, and act coquettishly towards me. Its cute appearance can really melt people’s hearts. When I get up and sit on the bed preparing to get dressed, Xiaobaozi will meow and run over again, gently pulling my hand with its little paw, indicating that it wants me to touch it. If my hand is placed a little higher, it will even lift its feet off the ground and rub its body against my hand with its head raised. Its eager look to be stroked is really hilarious. On ordinary days, Xiaobaozi is not so easy to get close to. It doesn’t allow being touched or hugged. Only when I get up from sleep or come home will it be like a coquettish little baby, fully showing its cuteness. Every time at this moment, I truly understand the feeling of “from now on, the king will not attend the morning court”, because I really can’t bear to leave its adorable appearance.
My friends’ comments on Xiaobaozi are always full of fun. They say, “The cat you raise might be a fake one” or “The dog you raise looks like a cat.” This is all because Xiaobaozi has some unique behaviors. What surprised me the most is that without anyone teaching it, it can actually play fetch! When I usually scroll through Douyin and see other cats playing fetch, I always sigh that the owners teach well and the cats are smart. Then I look at my own Xiaobaozi and think it’s so stupid that I thought it would never learn it in its life. However, one day, I accidentally threw its favorite toy out, and it actually ran over quickly and brought the toy back! I thought it was just an accident, so I tested it several more times. As a result, it really knew that I was playing with it and would bring the toy back every time. At that moment, I was both surprised and delighted. It turned out that my “stupid cat” is not stupid at all, and it has its own cleverness.
Xiaobaozi is a silver – shaded cat, but its legs and tail are particularly short, which made me once suspect that it has the blood of a Munchkin. When it comes to the feeling of raising a silver – shaded cat, I think silver – shaded cats have two obvious characteristics: one is a good temper, and the other is a bit “stupid”. As for whether there is a causal relationship between the two, I’m not really sure. Xiaobaozi’s gentle temper is praised by everyone who meets it. It never extends its claws, and no matter who wants to touch it, they can casually rua it. In its dictionary, there is simply no concept of “being fierce to people”. Even if it’s not happy being petted, it will only quietly move away or step back. When cutting its nails, it is also super obedient. As long as you hold it in your arms, you can cut its nails smoothly without any resistance.
My mom originally hated cats very much. When I brought Xiaobaozi home nervously, I was very uneasy. Fortunately, my mom didn’t dislike it because she thought it was simple – minded and not annoying at all. However, Xiaobaozi is sometimes scolded by my mom because it always likes to follow my mom around, loves to join in the fun, and often causes more trouble than help for my mom. For example, when my mom is doing housework, it will mess around beside her, making my mom not know whether to laugh or cry.
Xiaobaozi’s life is full of fun. It will try out the new hammock and lie on it comfortably; when it sees a little hamster, it will stare at it curiously; and sometimes it will even do some funny actions, such as “simmering cat soup, simmering itself”, or happily drinking fish soup with a satisfied look.
Xiaobaozi, my lovely cat, you are the most precious treasure in my life. Thank you for filling my life with your cuteness, gentleness, and surprises, making me laugh every day.
