My little female blue British Shorthair is almost six months old. At the end of December 2019, my mom suddenly asked me, “Dear daughter, do you want a cat? Just say the word, and I’ll bring it to you right away.” I replied, “Then bring it here.”
Actually, the blue British Shorthair mother of my mom’s friend gave birth to a litter of little blue British Shorthairs. My mom was really interested, so she negotiated the price and got two. One was for my family, and the other one my mom adopted on behalf of her colleague, each for 500 yuan.

When we went to the cat mother’s place to pick, I immediately took a fancy to the biggest and fattest one among them. It was very gentle when held in my hands, and became lively when put down. It really touched my heart. At that time, the little kitten was only two months old, and I wasn’t very good at telling male from female. I thought it was a little boy, but reality hit me hard. It turned out to be a female…
The lighter – colored one was originally for my mom’s colleague, but that person didn’t want it halfway. So my mom gave it to my aunt’s family. My aunt’s daughter, my cousin, really liked this cat and named it Yumi. It’s also a little female cat.
With my mom’s support, raising cats became much easier. However, there is another situation in my family. We also have a little Teddy.
This is a two – year – old male dog named Tangyuan. A relative of my colleague couldn’t take care of the dog due to family changes, so they gave it to me.
Tangyuan is a bit sensitive – minded but very gentle.
On the night I brought the two cats home, Tangyuan was already acting like an infatuated admirer. It really liked the two little cat sisters.
Tangyuan often quietly watched the two little kittens eating. By the way, Tangyuan is not fond of barking by nature. It only barked twice throughout the year. So the little kittens never really took this little black – colored dog seriously…
After that, buying cat food, cat litter, all kinds of miscellaneous things, and getting the cats vaccinated cost a lot of money.
Xiaomi has been gluttonous and active since it was born. Except for having a lot of eye discharge when it was a kitten, for which I bought some pet eye – drops, it has never had any other illnesses.
Moreover, Xiaomi is very cooperative when taking pictures and has a great sense of the camera.
I took some nice pictures of Xiaomi before the Spring Festival, but unfortunately, I didn’t capture its fur color well. Alas, my photography skills are poor, there’s nothing I can do about it.
During the Spring Festival, I went back to my hometown with Xiaomi and Tangyuan and made a Douyin video. Yumi has also grown up well and become more delicate. Xiaomi looks more arrogant.
This is Yumi. Its eyes are round and it looks very sweet.
Xiaomi is an impatient and arrogant little sister.
Although the dog and the cat fight and play every day, they love each other very much. In 2020, I hope Tangyuan, Xiaomi, and Yumi can all be safe, happy, well – fed, and stay away from illnesses.
