I’d like to do some popular science. There is no dog breed named Teddy. What you probably mean is the Poodle. Teddy is just a grooming style of the Poodle.
After looking through all the comments, I feel like I might be raising a “fake” Poodle. It never humps things. Except that it gets excited and goes to sniff other dogs downstairs, but it really doesn’t hump them. It’s even a bit scared of other dogs downstairs and doesn’t dare to do that.
In fact, not only Poodles have the mounting behavior. Other dogs do too. But because Poodles don’t shed much, are intelligent, and have a small body size, a large number of people keep them. If you don’t believe it, just go downstairs and take a look. Out of ten dogs, at least five are those curly – haired small Poodles. Owners post videos of their dogs in heat on the Internet, and with the instigation of marketing accounts, Poodle owners start to associate these behaviors with their dogs, thus solidifying the idea that Poodles are lewd. In fact, my classmate’s sister has a female Poodle that also shows mounting behavior. It can’t be said that a female dog “humps things” in the same sense, right?
So, as I have a Poodle at home, I know very well that it stays with us all the time, and its behavior isn’t as exaggerated as described online. The same goes for my uncle’s Poodle.
Any dog will go into heat. If we make a compilation of all dogs’ heat – related behaviors, it probably won’t be any less “spectacular” than that of Poodles. I’m really annoyed by this baseless criticism.
