“Follow-up visit”
After stopping medication for a week, Nymeria’s mouth inflammation did not seem to improve. Although the Elizabethan collar prevented her from scratching her muzzle with her hind legs, she actually learned to rub her mouth on the ground when she slept at night. And one day, when she took off the collar to clean it for a while, she scratched her mouth again and bled. So I made an appointment with the doctor for another follow-up visit today.
The last travel box was bought when she was a child. It was really small. I was worried that she would be uncomfortable curled up in it, so I used a cardboard box temporarily. This time I learned my lesson and drove very slowly and steadily. Finally, I didn’t get carsick on the way there. But I still vomited a few times on the way back, but that’s another story.
When I arrived at the hospital, I found a few interesting small devices in the waiting room. I didn’t notice it last time because I didn’t wear a leash. This time, I tied the little thing to it out of curiosity and tried it.
After the examination, it was found that the affected area had bacterial infection, and the right ear was also a little inflamed and swollen. I didn’t notice this last time. So I prescribed some medicines like last time, and a small tube of ointment to apply to the affected area. I opened it at home and tried it. It was thin, with a concentration between ointment and liquid. I hope it can be cured during the course of treatment.
I put on a smile when I got home. But it was actually because it was too hot. People can’t stand this weather, let alone a puppy wearing a fur coat. So I bought her a small wooden bed. I don’t know if it will work, but it’s better than sleeping on the floor.
“The Destroyer”
used a camera to spy on Nymeria at work today, and found that she had taken off the Elizabethan collar at some point. She is really getting more and more capable. When I got home and opened the door, I found another small black thing lying on the floor. I took a closer look and found that it was a sports bracelet. I don’t know why it fell off the table. Of course, Nymeria didn’t know the reason and thought it was for her to play with, so she bit it without hesitation and made it full of holes.
Since the Elizabethan collar has been taken off, I might as well take her out for a walk and put it on when I get home. By the way, I can also take some new photos.

My Nymeria usually sleeps very lightly, and will get up to check if there is any movement. But when she is sleeping soundly, she will occasionally make a purring or barking sound, as if she is talking in her sleep, which is very fun.

I installed a smart camera at home before. Although it is very useful, because Nymeria is free-range, she can’t be seen once she walks out of the surveillance range. She may not come even if you call her. Then… I found a remote-controlled car with a camera, which is very fun. It can meet the needs of surveillance.
However, there are still many shortcomings of this car. First of all, the materials are not very good and slightly rough; the steering range is too large and it is difficult to accurately position; the endurance is not strong, and it is difficult to control it even visually to park on the wireless charging plate, not to mention remote operation.
In general, it can still be used. I wonder if the subsequent products will be more advanced.

I used to think I wasn’t a sentimental person. But after having Nymeria, I feel different when I watch movies and TV shows with animal themes. There is always a part of me that becomes softer.
Over the past year, Nymeria has left us with many beautiful memories. She has no other family except us, and her life span is much shorter than ours. But she doesn’t seem to care about it at all, and she just wants to be with us. Every time I open the door after work, I can see her whining excitedly, holding her favorite little toy in her mouth and twisting her little hips towards us. At this moment, the fatigue accumulated from a day’s work will be swept away. For her, our greatest hope is that she can be healthy and happy all her life.
