Its intelligence will make people happy. My Border Collie doesn’t like to stay in the cage. When it is hungry and thirsty, I put food and water in its cage, thinking: You can’t resist the temptation and go into the cage automatically, right? Then I saw my Border Collie go in, his neck stretched to the food bowl, and left one of his legs at the door of the cage to prevent him from being locked in the cage.
When it was young, its body was still small. Every time it did something wrong, it knew it had done something wrong as soon as it saw our eyes were wrong. It immediately and quickly slipped under the sofa to take shelter. After a while, there was no movement outside and it jumped out like nothing happened. Now it has grown a lot, maybe it is a little hard to get under the sofa. Its reaction after doing something wrong has become to face our angry face and lick you constantly. This trick is quite effective. Every time I face a licking dog’s face, I will soften my heart and can’t bear to get angry with it.

It likes to interact with people, and is more enthusiastic about people than dogs, which makes it a homebody. Every time I take it out for a walk, it is eager to go home. When I bring something to play with it at home, it will hide happily when I pretend to chase it. If I stop chasing it, it will keep shaking the toy in front of me, calling me or biting off my trouser legs to remind me, or playing under my gaze. As soon as I leave, it immediately becomes bored with the toy it just played with and gives up playing.
It follows the rules very well. If it is not allowed to enter the room, it will only squat at the door of the room and wait if the toy enters the room, and will not chase it in.

Update: Now it is more than half a year old, and its tacit understanding with people is getting stronger and stronger. It basically knows what I usually say to it, such as its name, go home, run, this way, that way, eat, pee, go down, come up, come here, go… In the past two days, I spent a few minutes training it with snacks, and it quickly mastered the following instructions to do actions quickly: sit, lie down, hold the left hand, hold the right hand, stand up, open the mouth, etc. Last photo: Now he likes to look at the scenery outside the window. When he goes out, he must bite the leash and walk in front to lead the way. I often feel like I am a sheep he is herding. He has a strong ability to recognize the road. It is hard to change the nature of a sheepdog.
Another update: I remember when we were young, we liked to play the balloon-shooting game during the Chinese New Year. During the Chinese New Year, we bought a bunch of small balloons for the dog to play with. He instinctively raised his head or jumped up to hit the balloons. Sometimes the balloon fell too low to hit, so he bit it directly. The balloon made a sharp popping sound and burst, which also scared him. After two times, he actually knew not to bite the balloon. The balloon fell down, and he held the balloon in his mouth and gave it to me, and the ball-shooting game continued.
It is more interested in people than its own kind. When it goes out for a walk, it encounters some dogs that are interested in it and come over to sniff and smell it. It is usually indifferent, standing still and looking into the distance with cold eyes. Once it sees the owner of the dog slowly approaching in the distance, it immediately becomes excited and jumps up to get intimate with the other dog owner, which makes me wonder if it thinks of itself as a human. It
is particularly easy to understand the rules of the game you set. I used to play chasing games with it at home. Usually I chased it once, and when I caught up with it, it would chase me once. Basically, it understood after playing twice, and had a lot of fun playing according to the rules of the game. Recently, I always play the game of finding toys with it. I take a toy, show it in front of it, and then hide it in different corners of the house. When I ask it where the toy is, it will look all over the house and even lie down on the sofa to look. Every time it finds the toy, it brings it to me, and I feel a great sense of accomplishment.
